Ashley Southard
Ashley is a Gold Star spouse, mother of two, writer, and lifelong learner navigating how to live a full life after loss. Her husband, Andy, served as an Army Blackhawk Crewchief in the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment. He loved his family, his job, and the freedom of open skies. After his passing in November 2023, Ashley promised herself and their children that his story would not end there, that love could still create something meaningful.
Since then, she has dedicated her heart to honoring his legacy by supporting others who share this same kind of grief. Ashley shares her story openly—not because it is easy, but because she believes in the power of connection and in reminding other surviving families that they are not alone.
As a Gold Star Liaison with the Blue Skies Foundation, Ashley brings compassion, understanding, and a listening ear to those who need it most. She is passionate about building community, finding purpose through pain, and keeping the memories of our heroes alive in the light they deserve.
